James Williams of Plainfield high school started his high school career at Plainfield and transferred to Bergen Catholic after his freshman year. The 5'8 173lb running shared time with Nick Gherst of Bergen catholic his sophomore year. Williams put up some good numbers at Bergen Catholic rushing for over 500yds and 9 td's.
After Williams’s sophomore year he decided that he wanted to finish his career as a cardinal and transferred back to Plainfield. While transferring, Williams had to sit out four games due to the New Jersey transfer rule. After the four games, James was ready to tear up the field when he suffered a season ending shoulder injury.
Now that Williams is healthy, stronger and faster than ever. The Cardinal had his first test at the Badger Sport/New Level Athletic Skills Camp where he turned allot of heads with his speed and footwork.
Scout.com asked Williams about his recruitment and he stated that, "I have been hearing from Penn State, Syracuse, and Cincinnati." "I plan on going to the 7 on 7 at Ohio State."
We also asked him about his summer plans and he replied, “I plan on going to Penn State, Rutgers and Cincinnati camp".
