Shakim Phillips has been hitting the camp circuit hard so far this summer. Little did he know, his last stop would be a big one.

The upcoming season should be an exciting one for DePaul High School. Armed with quarterback, Danny Farley and their newest weapon, Shakim Phillips at wide receiver, they will undoubtedly be a force to reckon with. Phillips is 6'2ā€, 194 lbs, and has all the intangibles to be one of the top receivers in the state of New Jersey. Since the end of the season he has gained over 25lbs of muscle due to the extensive workouts held at Sports University in Fairfield, NJ. As a sophomore, Philips had 22 receptions for 386 yards and 4 touchdowns in just four games. One can only imagine what he will do with an entire season of playing time. Phillips is already hard at work this summer preparing for his junior season.

Scout.com spoke to Phillips about his summer so far, and he stated, "The summer is going really well. I attended the Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers, and UConn Camps".

At the UConn camp, Phillips ran a 4.56 in the 40 and jumped 9.5 in the standing broad jump. He also participated in the one on ones and the seven on sevens with the older group and performed extremely well. At the end of the camp, Shakim thought his day was done, but to his surprise, UConn handed him his first offer. When asked about the turn of events Shakim replied, "I was shocked when they offered me. I didn't know they were going to do that, but I’m glad they did. I hope this is the first of many to come.ā€

We will keep you posted throughout the summer and season on Shakim Phillips.
